We want people all over the world to visit the Laurel Highlands to learn about the joy that comes from Nature. Our Garlic Festival is a Stinkin’ good time with entertainment, a cooking competition and vendors. We offer families an opportunity to bond in nature with our corn maze and flashlight night. Our festivals aren’t the only time to have fun – we also have private events! Field trips for school kids, Birthday Parties, & Company Outings. We’re excited to see you and hope you enjoy your stay!

2020 Spring Field Trips

Charlottes Web

May 11th – 15th, 2020

Is your school attending the production of Charlottes Web at the Mountain Playhouse in Jennerstown?

Do you need a convenient location to eat lunch?

Would you like to add an education program to your day?

Faranda Farm offers:

  • Cafe style eating area under the veranda of picnic tables
  • ADA Male/Female Restrooms
  • Safe and easy unloading/loading buses and easy bus parking
  • Farm activities include feeding the animals, playground pedal carts, giant sling shot, corn hole and other barnyard games

Plus – We are going to study spiders

  • What is the difference between an insect and a spider?
  • What is special about a spider’s web?
  • Create your own spider web.
  • Farm activities

  •  Produces a product that never spoils?
  •  Can dance the Waggle?
  •  Can fly up to 20 MPH?

Our field trips will discuss the:

  • Life and activity in the hive
  • Pollinating and the importance in the food supply
  • Tools needed to take care of the hive
  • Sampling different honey

There will be no observatory hives on site.  We will just be learning about the importance of bees in agriculture.
